ABOUT
ME

Currently, I am a faculty member in the Department of Educational Leadership in the College of Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Prior, I served as a faculty member at the University of Iowa and the University of Southern Mississippi.

I identify as a white woman from a working-class family, a first-generation high school and college graduate, and a Pell Grant recipient. These experiences have shaped how I understand and interpret “schooling,” as well as how I have formulated my professional agenda. Rooted in personal experiences with marginalization in educational spaces, justice and equity are at the heart of my work.
Collectively, my teaching, research, and consulting are founded on my commitment to inspire lifelong learning and professional engagement through racial consciousness, social justice, and inclusion. I aim to improve leadership, policy, and practice by getting at a deep, rich understanding of people’s experiences across K12 and higher education contexts.
